  • OK Coni, I accept your challange. I will do ten minutes on the tread mill or just ten minutes walking. I know this is going to hurt because I have not been back on the treadmill since I hurt my knee taking care of Stell several weeks ago.  Until I can bring my legs back to where they use to be I may have to break it up into five minutes twice a day. Even that is going to hurt.  But no pain no gain. I will just keep telling myself that. YOUR ON. Thanks and God bless you,  Kaye

  • My choice of a challange is harder than I thought. It has been so long since I danced. This morning my husband mounted a mirror in my art room and  I got out my 30 year old stereo and my records but my poor old speaker wouldn't work. My husband tried for awhile and then suggsted I try the 1950's style cabinet stereo that was here when we bought the house. We got it running... I didn't really believe it would work... And when I heard my old music flooding the room I started to cry which really confused my poor patient husband. He wanted to know why I was crying, but I didn't know, myself. It may have been for what I used to be. I kept the music on during lunch and for awhile after. I tried a few steps and he said "You still got your moves." You know the tears started again. I did a little dancing around, but not ten minutes worth. My body remembers how to do the moves, but they didn't hurt before! I am going to have to go slower than I thought. Maybe eight minutes walking to the music and two minutes actually trying to dance to start my challange. He says this may be better for me than I can imagine... I think it's going to hurt! I am not so happy with this right now, but I have accepted the challange!

  • This is GREAT!

    Lets see....

    *10 minutes of walking

    *10 minutes of strenghth training

I'm super excited! TY for this challenge

  • Ok, Coni...I see now that you WILL get me to exercise...eventually.  So, I may as well give in now and just do it.  Hehe.

I think I'll start out w/ 10 minutes each day of either walking on my treadmill  OR  dancing with my kids...depending on my mood.  This week has definitely showed me that exercise is necessary...I'm a believer.  God Bless ~~ Hilary

  • Hello everyone I'm new to the slim-fast board. This sounds like a fun challenge. I'll do 10 minutes of cardio.

  • Oh Coni, you come up with the greatest ideas!!! Count me in!!  Ummm, let's see...I think I will plan to walk an extra 10 min a day...that is almost 1 mile more each day...Whew!  This is what I will need to make it though all those holiday meals.  It is going to be a great way to start the new year...Looking good and feeling better than ever!  Thanks!  Hugs, SisterC

  • I love it.  I certainly could do 10 of SOMETHING!  BUT I laughed when I thought of doing jumping jacks because I know I would pee 10 times too.  lol  Anyway, I will commit to doing

10 sit ups every day this week.

Suzanne, I made my daughters do a belly dancing excercize show with me on FIT TV.  Only one was left by the end of the show because the other 2 couldn't stop laughing at me, but I didn't care, it was great fun!

  • Who can resist a challange, so count me in.  My mind is racing. what do I want to do?   Now I have two options for the 10 Challange

Option 1: In the 70's, yes, before many of your were born I was a belly dance instructor. I would love to be able to do that again because it is such fun and so good for the tummy and helps make the back more flexible. I tried it about a year ago to see if I could still do the moves.  I thought it looked ludicrous on me,then, but I am learning from Coni. Who cares how it looks on the outside, it is how it feels on the inside that counts. And who knows what could happen.

Option 2. Is to do my treadmill 10 minutes on my off  days ( non weight training days)... Nope that is too easy.

Well, I made up my mind, dancing it is, ten minutes a day, that's only 2 songs. Surely I can do that. Talk about going out of my comfort zone. I will ask my husband to put up a mirror for me and start facing the music tomorrow. The challange is on! Well now I have to post it and make it real! Good luck to all, Suzanne... here it goes.

  • Oh my goodness, only 7 weeks til New's Years?!  I have a goal to be in ONE-derland by then so I need to join you Coni!  I just got back from my lunch at work and I spent some of my 30 minutes doing stretches and lunges after I drank my SF, so I'm off to a good start.

My daily exercise committment will start with: 10 sit ups, 10 DEEP lunges, and 10 windmills, along with my daily elliptical workout of at least 30 minutes.

Thanks for encouraging me to get off my butt Coni!
