  • Oh, I know what it is like to have someone that thinks you should go out to eat all the time...I have a friend that is diabetic and very overweight...okay, obese and she insists she has to eat out almost all the time.  I went to a meeting with her and she thought we should stop for breakfast along the way...first off, we were leaving at dawn and would need to leave sooner if we were to allow time for eating...anyway, I told her I was bringing my breakfast with me to eat on the way and she should do the same...while she drove, I drank my shake and had an apple, but when it was my turn to drive & hers to eat...she had me pull into a McD so she could get breakfast...2 sausage/egg muffins, hash browns, orange juice and coffe...then we did the same thing later that day...we had been provided a healthy lunch at the meeting and on the way home we had to once again stop so she could get something to eat...steak, potatoes with sour cream and then...dessert...turtle cheesecake!!  I had a very healthy salad and felt great.  Before we arrived home, she was complaining about seeing the doctor all the time and wishing she could get her diabetes under control.....Arrghhh!!!  Sometimes, people don't pick up on examples but I continue to eat my way when I am around her....so don't let others determine what you will eat during the holidays...fill up on veggies at your moms and eat salads if you have to eat out...sure hope the best for you...like Tim says, stay strong!!  You can do it!!   Hugs, SisterC

  • Hi Suzanne,

Stay focused on your goal because you are doing it for YOU!  You might be doing it to live longer to be around for family and friends...but you are doing it for you. I wish you the best of luck with the holiday gatherings...stick to your guns and eat healthy and do not get pressured into eating the junk.

    Stay Strong!

    Tim

play.10Hi, I am the Un-official Door Greeter here at this Slim Fast site... So Hello and Welcome! Trying to let the Mini-Me out
  • I feel so comforted by the welcome you gave me. I have been reading the what you wrote and am delighted to have a place to share how I actually feel. At the moment I am feeling quite possitive and a bit hungry. I haven't been actually hungry in a long time! It doesn't make me pleasant. Yesterday I felt like supper time should be at 4:30 instead of 6:00! But I made it.

I know Christmas is coming and my family is a problem. My Mom is a feeder and my daughter-in-law is always looking for excuses to over indulge and eat out. But I am trying not to get ahead of myself.

This is the first time I ever had sight of an end goal and it does feel great. Only 97 pounds to go!

I am so happy you will be here when the going gets rough. Thanks Everyone, Suzanne
