           Looks like we all have are reasons for wanting/needing to lose weight. Hopefully we can keep this forum going so people can connect with one another so we can make are wants/needs a reality.

    Speaking of reality, don’t you just hate it when you get the motivation, you have the means, and you start out with the best of intentions…but…kerplop! It all falls through, and ya havfta start all over again. Or you continuously find your self starting and stopping,  or you get half way thru it and then something goes wrong and you say to your self, “okay next week or next time”, or “I screwed up so I havefta stop and wait till a new day, week, or month to start again.”

           Is it me or does that sound like self sabotage? Setting yourself up to fail, or overly beating your self up over the small things, or just plain giving up and giving in to quickly. I hope I’m not the only one who this happens to, but if I am, “Help!” I really need this to work this time, not only for me physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I need to shape up and get healthy, in all of those areas. I’m staring with the physical first hoping that will lead and ease the way for the rest. Best of luck to all you ladies out there!

  • Hi,

    I am 32 years old and I have a wonderful 21/2 year old son.  I had gestational diabetes while pregnant, and I gained a total of 35 lbs. during my pregnancy.  Due to the gestational diabetes, I had to deliver by c-section at 38 weeks.  Within the first two months of having my son I ended up losing all of my pregnancy weight along with another 10 lbs.  I was actually thinner than when I became pregnant, which was fine for me lol.  I lost it pretty quickly, and without even trying to.  I constantly kept myself busy, especially with a newborn, it's almost non-stop the first two months.  I also didn't have much of an apetite, and sometimes forgot to eat.  About two months later I started having very painful gallbladder attacks and ended up having to remove it.  Unfortunately, this would be the worst decision I ever made, but I wasn't given much of a choice.  My gallbaldder was in really bad shape after it was removed, but the removal left me with constant pain for 2 years now.  I have constant pain on my right side in my back and front, which sometimes gets into a tight cramp to the point that I can hardly breathe.  I've done numerous tests and have visited the hospital plenty of times, but all tests come back normal.  Removing my gallbladder has also made me gain back all of my pregnancy weight back.  I have a 2 year old son, I work full-time and I'm trying to graduate this summer with a double major so my life is pretty busy right now.  I don't have time to make all of my meals, or write everything I eat down.  Since this plan is different than others, with the ready to go shakes and bars,  I feel that I can commit to this plan and try my best to keep up with it.

  • I often fear that my husband will think differently of me since I have gained weight.  He has gained just as much as I have, if not more.  It is definately different for a guy, though.  When I met him, I was at my thinnest point of my adulthood.  Not to mention I was only 21 when we met.

    I know that I want him to look at me the way he did back then.  I want to like how I felt about myself back then, now.  In the end, we must be healthy for ourselves, though.  When my hubby has asked me how I feel about his weight, I am supportive of his efforts.  I want us both to lose weight and be healthier, but i know that I married him for better or for worse.

    Congrats on the weight loss effort.  Remember that we are all there to support you!

  • Hi,

    I have a 2 year old daughter and a 2 month old son.  I was very sick with my son and was on ivs and medication during my pregnancy.  I lost a lot of weight, but once I had him I got my appetite back and have gained weight.  I too am on antidepressents.  I have always had a hard time with weight and went from diet to diet, but never got support.  Yesterday my husband and I got in a fight and he told me I gross him out because I am fat.  He has always loved my body, but that did it for me.  I now have to lose weight.  I have waited too long.  I want to get into exercising and eating right.  I guess right now I really feel like I could use some support from people who understand what I am going through.  My husband has always been thin and never struggled with weight.  I need help and feel truly desperate for the first time in my life.  Sorry to get so personal, but I need someone to talk to and help motivate me.

  • I gained 70 lbs with my first pregnancy. After spending years worried about gaining weight, I felt like I could eat what I wanted. I lost weight initially after he was born, but then gained back a bunch. I was 145 when I got pregnant with him and 200 when I got pregnant with the second. Again, I lost weight right away, then gained most of it back. When he turned 6 months I was at 224 lbs. Then I just decided one day that I was going to get it under control and since then have used this website religiously. I have lost 26 lbs in the last 2 months and now weight 2 lbs less than when I got preggers with number 2. My goal is to be down to 175 by his first birthday and by summer be back to 145-150. We all can do this with some determination! Vanessa, my thoughts are just the same as yours, I want to set a good example for my children so they don't struggle with weight!

  • My two beautiful toddlers are now 1 and 3.  With each pregnancy, I don't gain much weight, but gain tons after.  I am now 60 pounds heavier than I was before my first pregnancy.  I love my kids dearly and want to be the best mom possible for them and that means being a healthy mom.  I want to set a good example for them and not repeat my mistakes.

    I have bought some workout dvds so that I can work out from home, which is the best option for me with two little ones.

    I am looking to get some support in my weight loss goals as well as be there for other new moms who are in the same boat as I.

    I look forward to getting to know all of you!

    Vanessa

  •         New (unexpected-but very much welcomed) Mom. Had some complications, so was on bed rest, then got blood clots during recovery from an unplanned c-section. On top of that was put on Zoloft for post -traumatic and postpartum.

            Now I weigh as much as I did when I was pregnant. Off the meds now, have a gym membership, have the meal replacement shakes----->ready to get this weight off and enjoy motherhood and be happy with myself in how I look and feel inside and out!! Who's with me, let me hear your story and maybe together we can help each other   :0}
