  • Yeah, I've bought 2 maxi dresses they are awesome because they look cute and hide the fat. lol. I also hated swimsuit shopping this year but next year after I have gotten a tiny little waist from drinking slimfast it will be a whole nother story. I can already notice that my pants seem to be fitting a little loser. Yay!!

This weekend I found difficult because a friend had a party and will probably be even more difficult back at school with all the parties but I am going to stay strong and keep eating healthy and working out. :)

  • Hey I'm in the same boat as you! I used to dance but stopped and when I stopped playing sports, everything was fine for a while. But then when I hit hs and started dating my boyfriend...I just let go. And now in college, it's even worse. With the stress of school and never being able to eat healthy or exercise it's so hard to stay fit. I hate seeing girls who are either younger or older than me and are thinner and in way better shape. So when I went bathing suit shopping recently and could not find anything flattering I decided it was it, I was tired of it. I have a cruise in April and I want to have a smoking body hahaha. I feel the same way you do about bras, it's like right underneath and it drives me nuts. And the maxi dress I own is my saving grace...sort of. I still sort of feel like it makes me look like a big balloon....anyway I'm here with you! I need to lose a little more than you but I am taller than you at 5'7 so I don't look THAT big haha....good luck!

PS-I'll be a sophmore in college as well....never really thought freshman 15 was true until now :(

  • Wow!! I am glad to hear there is another struggling college student. I am going to be a Junior next year and it is hard to stay fit when you are so busy all the time.  I think I have accumulated 30 lbs. while at school. EEK.

We have a gym on campus that all full-time students get full membership to then there are classes you can pay for.  I am thinking about signing up for this one program that has unlimited classes and are all throughout the day, that way it will hopefully work with my schedule.

I just started 3 days ago. And am thinking the slim fast shakes are going to be very nice while I'm on the go.  There were often times when I would be running out the door grabing a bag of doritos for lunch because I didn't have time.

I am living in a sorority, which I really like because all the girls are really down to earth and nice and not at all like the media's persception of sororities.  But we just got a new cook at the end of the year and she really likes to fry things! Even veggies! We have a salad bar and right now that is what I'm thinking I am going to have to do... i don't know. We will see.

Looking forward to having buddies who can relate to the struggling college life!!

  • I'm also about to be a Senior in college and it is soooooooo tough to watch your weight. Not only just trying to fit in gym time but also eating healthy, I've gained 30 pounds in college (and i wasn't in that great of shape to begin with) and so i'm going to work on getting it off this summer for next year! Good luck to everyone!

  • Haha, yes!  I loooove how my sundresses are so forgiving!

I feel your pain, aoiipandaluv.  I think I feel it twice as much, in fact!  I just graduated college in May.  Went to the doctor a couple weeks after graduation...stepped on the scale there...realized I have gained 35 pounds in the last 4 years.  AAAAH!  Time to do some reverse damage control.  I'm so happy for you that you're working to get good habits going while you're still in college, even though it's really hard to be healthy there.

And...I've already lost 3 pounds!  Yay for our progress!

  • Yes I am so happy long sundresses are in style!! Haha, I never wear jeans at all and sundresses are cute yet they cover a lot!

Back to school but not back to the weight!!!
  • I'm about to be a senior in college, and I totally understand your dilemma!  I put on some weight my freshman year, and by the following summer I was at the heaviest weight I had ever been.  I went on the South Beach diet during that summer and lost about 25 pounds, but I slowly started gaining it back once I went back to school.  I find that it's really hard to follow a diet when you're in college.  For my first three years I didn't have a kitchen, and I was always running around to classes and the library and such, so I'd just grab something fast and unhealthy.  I've now gained back 15 of the 25 pounds I lost.  Like you, I'm unhappy with the way I look in jeans, so I've been sticking to sundresses a lot this summer.  I'm starting SlimFast so that I can get down to a healthy weight (I need to lose about 30 lbs) and feel good about my body.  I think SlimFast will be great because it's something I can grab real quick on the way to class.  Hopefully we can both lose that weight!  :D

  • :) - I am in my thirties now, but wanted to let you know that exactly what you are describing happens to a lot of us - I went through the same thing during my freshman year.  You can get back to you idea weight, and now is a great time to try to do so (before you try to have kids, etc) - good luch to you.

  • I'm 5'3" and I'm about 145 lbs. This is the heaviest I have ever been in my life! It's really hard for me because I id ballet since I was 3 and had to quit because of a knee injury. It was downhill from there but the most weight I put on was my senior year in high school and on to right now, my sophmore year in college. The freshman 15 totally sucked and I went from a size 5 to 8 to 11 now. It's way too much! I don't feel good about myself and don't even wear jeans anymore. Lately I hate wearing bras because of a pooch of fat I have under my boobs. It sucks! I feel unhealthy and unattractive. I'm trying slim-fast to see if it will work and I'm very optimistic! Tell me about your success stories or issues you've had with slim-fast! I want to know!
