  • That was very inspirational.  I am a big time binge eater.  I work 8 to 5 everyday and while I am sitting at my desk I snack, then try to justify it by saying they are 100 calorie snacks, Yeah, but I eat at least 3 of them a day.  I need to get a grip.  Yes I have looked at myself in the mirror, front ways and side ways and ask what has happened to me, who is that person, and I only have my self to blame.  I need to be real with myself and quit playing on one week then eat the house the next.  Sometimes I really get upset because I still have a lot of clothes  from when I was smaller and I can't even get them over my thighs.  I keep telling myself that I am going to lose the weight and get back in them, yes that might happen but the clothes will be out of style by then.  It's time to love me and love my life, exercise to live a long life.  Sometimes once I get off of work I sit on the sofa and watch TV until 9 and 10 pm. Then I say it's to late to exercise.  Excusses, Excusses Excusses.. It's time out for that..I wish I can just stay focused.

  • I LOVE your attitude about this!! The ONLY reason it's so hard for me to lose weight is because I live with a junk & fast food addict! It's so hard when it's in front of your face and you can SMELL it!! This past Saturday my boyfriend went to Raising Cane's while we were out and the smell almost made me give in, but I did NOT!!!! I was so proud of myself. Instead, I ate a banana that I forgot was in the back seat from grocery shopping the day before. Thank goodness for that banana because I was hungry!!!! lol

  • Good Luck kjfmfs!!

You can do it, we All can. You just have to want a better body more than you want the foods that you crave.  One thing that worked for me back in college, when I was 156lbs (i'm 5 ft), was to throw Everything away that my body didnt need. I didn't need those chips, I didn't need those pizza pockets, or the chocolate, or the soda...etc. I just needed nutritional goodies and slim-fast! to make a better me!

I also thought about my pets food consumption. They don't binge eat, bc i limit and monitor their eating habits. If i can do it for them, i can do it for myself. In college I dropped from that 156 to a 115 in a semesters time (about 4 months) ... of course that was ummm 5 years ago. I'm back at 135. But, I did it, by lowering the intake of my food with the help of slim-fast and increasing my daily activity. I would do little things like park farrrr farrr back in parking lots to encourage me to walk, and before I started, I looked into the nutrition facts of my previous, daily habitual foods/drinks (carmel machiatto 880calories!!! that is almost my daily calorie intake! Right there in that little cup!!!)

Now 26, I am back on the slim-fast plan to get back to my healthiest (and sexiest) form! And you can too!! Best of Luck.

imagine a healthier and more active you. The possiblilities in life are endless.

  • I have just completed My first binge-free day since my honeymoon this past June 2009.

I worked hard at getting a good body for puerto rico, but after i returned and in only a month and a half later, I've gained 6-7 pounds! :( I guess I just became comfortable and pressure free about a big romantic trip. I began to eat things i used to never let myself eat in Years, ex...hotdogs, mayonaise, chips!! ohhh sooo bad.

So, my anniversary is coming up in December and I want that hot body back. I started the slimfast diet today, free of Binges!!!

    Happy Weight Loss to EVERYONE!!

  • Hi all, I'm new to SF, but not new to diets, binge eating, and all that goes along with it.  This is also the first time I've posted in any forum anywhere, although I've been lurking for years.  This thread strikes a chord with me because I have gained 66 pounds over the past four years by binge eating and it's time to STOP.  So far, it's been.....5 hours.  But here's hoping that 5 hours turns into 5 days, 5 months, 5 years.  But I won't get ahead of myself.  One day at a time.

  • I'm the one who started this thread and yet I've had 2 straight days of bad foods and binging.  That's how bad it is.  I've gained 2 pounds so far on SF, my ticker isn't right.  My hubby came home from the mall yesterday with a huge bag of Lindt chocolates and completely sabotaged any attempt I'd made last week in weight loss.  I was actually pretty mad at him about it.  Instead of indulging, which I DID, I should have come on this thread for support.  Lessons learned.

Keep up the good work, everyone!  I'm going to make a delicious iced SF shake right now for dinner..........

  • Bikinis in the winter, huh?  You must live somewhere very warm.  In ND it stays around 10 to -50 degrees in the winter, not counting the wind chill.  While you all are in your bikinis, I will be in layers upon layers upon layers.  Guess I could turn up the heat and walk around the house in it...a little strange, but I'm always up for a little strange.  I would definitely have to keep the blinds closed.  Thanks for the laugh, picturing myself in a bikini really is a hoot...maybe in a year or so, if then.

    Blessings, Bridget

P.S. Congrats on the 2lbs gone...good for you!

  • Im down!!! Havent binged since I started sf..I am still a newbie though..lol... Love the idea.. lets keep this interesting while reaching our goals!! Bikinis in the winter!!!! Yippeee

  • I'd be interested in reading that book too.

  • One thing Ive noticed is that I am more likely to binge if I get really REALLY hungry.  The best thing for me is to make sure I eat breakfast and to eat even though I might not be too hungry.  I used to be an emotional eater in that when I got stressed out I would grab something tasty.  As if that solves the problem!  Weight loss is as much a lifestyle change as it is changing the way we think.  There is a book I want to read sometime soon called "The end of Over Eating".  Good luck everyone!
