Most parents dont think about how much food they are giving their kids, and then when there kids say they are full they tell them three more bites and they can be done. I was an overweight child and still have problems with my overeating because i was always told to finish what was put in front of me, they never realized i had just had enough. I have written research papers on childhood obesity myself, and it is a mixture of all of the above.

Doing research

Since i am trying to lose weight and have to write a research paper, I chose to write it on childhood obesity. I myself have been overweight for most of my childhood and would like some additional information.

if any of you have/know children that are overweight is it because of:

Nutrition? A lot of quick fix foods such as microwavable chicken nuggest are packed with calories. Are parents not watching what they give? Poor diet? Too much candy?

Lack of exercise? Video games are what got me. My dad bought me a nintendo when I was five and couldnt stop playing. Do the kids that you know rather stay inside and entertain themselves rather than play outside with friends?

Do you notice a correlation between overweight parents and their children? (Overweight parents lead to overweight kids)

Is there a lack of physical activity in schools (recess, physical education)?

Any additional ideas? Did you suffer from childhood obesity?
