  • It sounds like you are making some great strides in your exercise regime!  Oh, and congrats on stopping smoking!  You have a lot of things to be proud of; so think of that when you're feeling less than motivated.  You're antidepressants should help motivate you, not keep you fatigued on the couch.  If things don't change call your Dr.  I just had to increase because I couldn't pull myself off the couch.  Overall, it sounds like you have a great foundation.  Just keep doing what you're doing, follow the plan, and everything should fall into place.  You will get to where you want to be. you just have to stick with it long enough.  I believe in you.

  • Hi Sissysue,

We are probably totally opposites but I would love to be your buddy. I don't have nearly as much weight to lose as you do but yet you are doing so much more than I am to lose it. I wish I could say that I walked to work each day !!

I do love the cappichino flavor of the slim fast. It is my favorite. I try to drink that as a late snack and then one more around 2 in the afternoon to hold me over until supper. What do you do?

I would also like to say to you that you are not alone when you are walking. God is there too. My prayer for you is that you are depending on God to walk with you and get you through this journey in your life.

I have not tried the hip hop abs but I did do the tybo (?). The kick boxing anyway. LOL It will work your muscles too. Right now I'm walking when I get the chance. I have not lost any weight yet since I also eat when I don't need to. That is my biggest problem too.

I look forward to hearing from you. I am a Christian lady in Alabama that would like to be your friend and need your encouragement too.

  • congratulations on everything.  I have been walking to work for about 2 years which is a mile to work, during the summer i walk home as well.  so that is 2 miles a day not 2 miles stright but 2 miles a day anyhow.  I recently got hip hop abs and strted to dance with it.  It is hard and man did i use some muscles I haven't used in apparently a very long time.  I work 3rd shift so walking alone in town at night makes me a bit uneasy, so i walk as fast as I can to work.  It takes me aobut 25-30 min to get there.  but on lmy days off I don't want to walk a long ways alone, I just don't feel the safest.  Ever since I quit smoking I have gained about 30 pounds in 3 months.  and It is very depressing.  so now I really have push myself to lose the weight.  But that is hard because I just recently got put on anti depressents and it makes me tired, so until it actualy starts to kick in i feel as though I am doomed.  I just need some motivation to kick myself in gear.  I'm, trying my best though.  I have about 135 pounds to lose.

  • yea i used to go to a boxing gym i really enjoyed it.....

  • Things are going pretty well with me so far! I was stuck with a bad achilles for a while, but it's finally healing and I can 'almost' walk without a limp. I want to get back to my boxing! Has anyone ever tried this? It's a great way to beat up all the frustrations in one's life--and you get fit pretty quick!

My hubby just gripes at me when I mention working out, so I too am on my own!

I'd love to start riding a bike again! I'm jealous!

    Talk again soon!

  • Congrats on the new relationship and congrats on getting back on track!

  • Well after being preganant and gaining so much weight about 70 pound i was doing well with working out and lost 40 of those pounds but then i went back to school and was working full time my and my ex split and i just didnt have the time to exersise i gained that weight back  .....but now  i have finished school in a new relationship and getting married next year and want to get back on track so thats my story

  • Hi everyone!  I noticed a lot of people have joined this group and no one is really talking. So, I thought I'd try and get things going.  I had a medical condition that kept me on the couch for a year and I have just been released to get moving!!  I've walked 2 miles 3 times last week and today, I used a video to "walk" 2 miles.  I have a friend who i'm going to start riding bikes with.  I tried once a couple weeks ago and I've lost so much of my balance that I could barely do it.  But I made it for about 5 minutes. :)  I'll take what I can get. My husband isn't as active as I would like to be, so I'm trying to learn to do things on my own.  So, that's my story so far...what about you?
