  • Hi, my name is Heide, and I am just getting started.  I have been reading the posts in this group and everyone seems so nice.  I am in need of a group and a buddy, but not really sure how to start.  If you have time can you give me some hints.

  • Hi Lorraine!  I can understand fully where you are at.  The best advice I can give you is to be patience.  Our bodies reach what is called a 'set point'.  It is the point where the body stops loosing for a little while so that it can get adjusted to the weight it has lost.  The time the body sits is undetermined.  It is different for each person.  I lost 20 lbs and just sat there stuck...for a very long time.  I was able to maintain until Easter and unfortuneatly, picked up 4 lbs.  Stayed stuck there forever until just a couple weeks ago when I finally lost 2 lbs.

    Rainey /Lorraine/ Wasilla Alaska/48/ Goal weigh of 130

     

    I have been on Slim Fast for a year now and have done really well with it bu tit is always nice to chat with others who are going through the same weight loss battle I have been battling my last 10 lbs for months  now I have lost 20 and for the last few months I stay the same, I walk everyday at lunch 3 miles I work out with a trainer 3 times a week at the gym and walk with my dog every  night but I keep going, any one with some ideas?

    weighed in today. actually gained a pound. I did myself in. My husband went out and got a slurpy and picked up a small hamburger (ate half) and fries. The only way I have lost weight in the past is to stop eating after 7. i love to munch, but that's my downfall. It was kind of depressing cause I fouind a food diary 2 years ago and i'm at the same weight and inches. So i'm starting again today. I think when I have huge goals I get so depressed, so i'm going to have a smaller goal by end of junefor 195 and to get out of the 200s. I'm stuck at 203 for 2 years! back and forth. If any one has been like me and succeeded to break through, please let me know how what you did.

    I am going to walmart today and look into a slimfast snack that i could use at night. I tell myself to eat fruit for a snack but htat doesn't work so i'll see about their snacks.

    Things are great and we are halfway through the week.  Ladies I am learning to make better food choices and that is awesome.  I work at a call center for a living right now (from home) and yesterday I had a really upsetting call.  Usually, I would have reached for food for comfort.  I did go to the refrigerator on my break, but I closed the door.  I didn't reach for food to make me feel better.  I know that may sound trival,  but for me is it a great milestone in my life.   Have a very wonderful blessed evening Cindi...and my wonderful slimfast friends...much ...much ....love to you all...Gloria
