You're not failing, because you've realized where you're at. A good place to start for you (I follow this plan, and it's allowed me to lose 25 lbs. so far):

BREAKFAST: 1 Protein, 1 Fruit. SNACK: 1 Protein, 1 vegetable. LUNCH: 1 Protein, 1 Vegetable, 1 Grain. SNACK: 1 Protein, 1 Vegetable. DINNER: 1 Protein, 1 Grain, 2 Vegetables. (I got this formula from the Biggest Loser Fitness Program Book). In my weekly food journals, I write this formula down to keep me focused. By the end of each day, it tells me what I'm missing. ("I forgot to have two vegetables, so I'll have a plate of fresh mushrooms, and slice up some bell pepper strips). It has helped me accomplished a good eating schedule that prevents me from being hungry during the day (except when I need to be:)

If you're doing the SF plan, one of your proteins for each meal could be a SF shake and maybe a sliced apple. Take it slow. Make small goals for yourself. I'm 43 and have got 35 lbs to go. The weight comes of slower because of my age, so for right now, I have a 10 lb. goal. Nothing else matters. Once I reach that, then I'll make another 10 lb. goal.

If you're frustrated because of the foods your husband eats and you need to eat at the same time, have yourself a lean protein and a fruit or veggie. You'll be losing the weight and he won't. When he sees how fantastic you look, he'll join in with the protein and veggie snack too!

You'll get there. You're doing this for you and nobody else. Make YOU a priority:)

good luck,

I is crazy that I gain weight after the holidays! I love to eat good food and am a fantastic cook. My cravings began when I was young and I struggled to stay at a normal weight. My low body temperature and low blood sugar keep me from staying thinner. Currently I am 200 lbs. and am in shock about. Exercise is ok with me as is veggies but somehow I get off track. My husband is always eating and it is always something with carbs and fat. I need some help staying on a healthy diet and getting some weight off before my daughter graduates college this year. Any help you have to offer is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading my concerns.
