  • Hi everyone!! Today is actually my 2nd day on the SF diet but my first visit to the site. I am 25yrs old and have about 72lbs to lose. I am currently at 197lbs and intend to be at 125lbs by the end of this year. I would really like to feel more comfortable in my own skin by June 1st (my b-day), so I am making a short term goal to lose at least 20lbs by then. I have struggled with my weight since right after graduating high school. I noticed my jeans getting tighter during my senior year; I should have gotten the ball rolling then. Maybe I wouldn't have let it get this far. I can't stand to look in the mirror and when I go out, I feel embarrassed; I have a complex about my weight and  I desperately need to do something about it. Not just for my looks but for my health. I have high cholesterol also and my family has history of having heart attacks between the ages of 40-50. That's a scary thought...

    The first 2 days have gone well...I haven't fallen off the ban-wagon yet (I have a hard time sticking to things) and I hope I can actually stick to this. I have not worked out yet this week, which I feel guilty for, but I'll most likely start back up on the gym thing next week once I get used to the diet.

    I would love to have a buddies so I can motivate them and they can motivate me just the same. Let me know.  :)

  • Greetings Monique and Melissa - today is my first day and I would love to drop 69 lbs by the end of this year if possible.  I have been home for four days sick with pneumonia and I know that it has to do something with my weight.  I am 37, I have been married for 16 years and have two children 15 and 11.  If anyone would like to share this journey with me, I would love the company.

    I started eating healthy and exercising the first week of Jan. 2010 and I have lost 11 lbs. I would love to have a buddy to motivate each other when times get rough. I started slim fast today because my doc told me that the reason why I have only lost 11 lbs is because I was gaining muscle and on the negative side skipping meals. With the SF plan it is so easy to grab a shake and go. Anyways goodluck and keep in touch and if anyone else want a buddy feel free to le me know, we are all on this weight loss journey together.

  • Hi I would like to be your buddy, this is my 2 day and right now it is 6 pm and i am hungry ahhh, I have a 7 yr old daughter who is over weight so I am trying to cook and snack healthy for her also. My husband has just lost 40 pounds in the last 4 months so I feel very large next to him lol

    I have been on so many different diets some has worked but the weight finds me again

  • hi everyone. i keep getting these groups of fresh start emails with a whole bunch of letters and numbers in the name, are those legitmate? i was in another group and it started. am i the only who is getting them? thanks!

  • so this is day 2 for me a friend of mine has been doing the slim-fast program and has lost 11 pounds so far. I'm looking to lose 25-30 pounds. I don't know how i gained it it seems i woke up and it was there. But now it's time for a change summer is coming and i dont even feel comfortable in shorts anymore. So my goal is to lose some of it before summer...wish me luck and luck to all of you trying to lose the weight. It is hard and cAN be very frustrating the key is to not give up on yourself and know you are worth the change...chin up and lets conquer are goals together...

  • Hello everyone...I've got about 40 pounds to lose as well. I'm 28 and have a five-year old. I went to nursing school last year and combined with a full-time work schedule I had no time to cook, so we ate out a lot and the pounds just crept on.

    I'm new to SlimFast, but I'm hoping the convenience of it will be what makes it work. I have so little patience with having to cook 3-5 small meals per day in between all the other stuff that has to be done. Can't wait to start (on 4/11)!!

  • I will like to join in with everyone here also.  I think I'll be the oldest so far as I'm not 56 with two grown children.  I was a great feeling 140 about 6 years ago, but some where I packed on 60 pounds!  I am so ashamed, I haven't been to a doctor for 2 years, and for a woman, that is bad.

    This is day 1, and I would love to have friends to talk to about this.  My husband of 34 years is a wonderful man except his attitudes towards being over weight.  You know, the little poke here and the little joke there.  So I am looking forward to positive feed back for a change.  Good luck all!

  • hello all. ive got about 40 lbs to lose. id very much like to be at a healthy BMI which for my height is 140 lbs. for all who have tried Medifast did you lose the weight even though you did not like the food? ive thought about trying it out also. or maybe somehow combining Medifast with the Slim-Fast.
