  • Well, I stayed the same. You probably  thought I ran away. My computer wouldn't  let me on the site for some reason.  I will try to start a new thread tomorrow. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. We just had a small  gathering (11 people) on Sunday. Good food. Brought leftovers home. Put a lot of turkey in the freezer. I am out of the sides now. That may help me some.

I had my scope several years ago, but I don''t  remember being down that long. It didn't really help me, but  with your injury it should help you.

    Have a good week.

  • Well, it's a new week, but I decided to keep going on this post.

At first, I actually thought this scope thing would be totally simple, but on Wednesday I got online and researched it and found out it's a little worse than I thought.  It looks like it could be up to 3-4 months until I can resume normal activities.  The first month looks like crutches with a solid straight brace and then getting into a brace with a little motion for the next couple and being able to weight bear.  I thought, take a little piece out and I'll be walking fine in a few days.  I am scheduled for the MRI on Friday this week, so I should know something that afternoon.

Anyway, I ate too much this weekend.  I did pretty good on Thanksgiving day.  It's the leftovers and eating that way everyday since.  I was up a few more pounds today, but I feel like it's alot of water weight, because last night I felt really bloated and heavy.  I am going to start tonight with trying some movement, something, anything I can do.  At least some upper body stuff and abs.  Talk to ya later this week.  Hope you did better than I did this weekend.

  • Bunny, An MRI is a good idea. If it is the minicus, they would probably do a scope, which isn't all that bad. It will keep you down  a few weeks. Sometimes that all it takes. They go in with a scope and cut the torn parts away. There are a couple of injections they can put in that sometimes helps. That may be all you need. Hope you find out just what it is.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

  • I went to the Dr today, had xrays which all came back ok.  He recommended an mri like I thought he would.  It doesn't sound a tendon or ligament is torn or anything, but he's concerned that I may have torn the miniscus.  He said I can take off my brace and work on some range of motion, which I had been afraid to do.  The last time I tried to bend it and make it move, I had 2 sleepless nights, so I am hoping that doesn't happen again.  I took the brace off this afternoon and have been trying to regain my strength.  Man does it feel week after 1 1/2 weeks of immobilization!  Hopefully, it will start to get better and I won't need the mri afterall.  It is looking like with the holiday coming up it will be towards the end of next week before I can get it scheduled.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  • I am of course up this week.  My knee feels about the same.  I go to the dr on Tuesday.  I am hoping it's just a sprain and that I can get active again soon.  It is killing me not being able to do anything!  Just cleaning house and doing laundry up and down stairs is a chore.  I will try doing the upper body part of my workout videos as soon as I can.  I should have tried them this weekend, but you know how that goes.  Talk to ya soon.  I will post after my appt this week.  Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Well, I am flipping between 2 lbs. so back up 2. I need to eat more fruits and veggies.  And not eat as many starches.

Bunny, How's the leg. Hope you didn't hurt it too bad.

This is just a quick note. I am at work, and it's almost time for me to go home.

    Good luck this week.
