  • Well, one month later. Lost 12 pounds. I'm starting to have a little more energy and motivaton. Not exercising yet...but I'll build up to that. I work in an office and sit on my butt all day.  So I moved the garbage can to across the room and make myself get up and walk to it every single time I need to throw something out. Also, I normally make a pile of files to put back and will file them after a couple days. Now, I get up and file every single one when I'm done. Just some little things...but hopefully it makes a little bit of a difference. I park my car further from the store, I bring out the garbage cans one at a tiime, walk to the mailbox instead of pulling up to it in my car. And I'm not out of breathe by vaccuming anymore...I'm still sweating though!

I'll at least feel like things are under control when I make it to 195. Then I'll feel like I'm getting somewhere...back in familiar territory at least.

  • Karen,

I haven't tried vitamins before but I found following the diet just works. I am a big promoter of SlimFast products because I feel the products have all the good things your body needs. After a 3 week period, I had so much more energy and felt better every week (what kept me motivated). I did however, buy green tea bags. I used one tea bag per cup and added about 1 tsp. of skim milk (I drank the tea hot). I had tea at least 2 times a day. I really felt it made a difference. Let me know if I can help you in any way! Good luck!

  • Way to go PopRouge! I have followed the plan before and after the first 3 weeks, the diet became easy because I was seeing and feeling the results every week! I always carry a picture of me (at my best weight) to fight off the urge to eat. I also try to keep busy. Staying busy takes my mind off FOOD! Good luck and if you should need any support or just a word of encouragement....don't hesitate to contact me!

  • I am 38 years old  and 5'3" and I weigh 180lbs.  I am also single.   I am loosing weight so I can catch a boyfriend  and get married and get my life going.   I feel like this is my time  to loose the weight.   I find the slim fast meal plans a lot of work.  First of all, tonight  I made the recommended dinner from the meal planner tool.  Then I  exercised to an aerobic dvd called Get Ripped by Jari Love (it uses dumbells as you do the aerobics).  After that I cleaned the kitchen and headed out in the cold and dark night to the Winn Dixie grocery store to buy the food for tomorrows recommeded meals.    It takes a lot of effort to buy the groceries and fix the meals and  then prepare the next days lunch the night before.  I admire all the ladies who are married and are feeding their families and still make the effort to eat the slim fast diet plan!!!  You really are an inspiration.   Also to fit in exercise into a busy schedule takes a lot of discipline.  I have rearranged my life to make this a priority this year!!  It will be difficult to do this but I am making this diet and exercise plan on top of the list of things to do for the year 2010.

  • Hi, I am also 5'2", I weigh 215 and I'm 27. I've been fighting depression for 9 years and have been on several medications. When I'm depressed I turn to food and sleep. My favorite being stuffing myself and then taking a nap. I'm so sick of being overweight. When I first starting dating my husband I was 125 (7 years ago). We've been married for a year now and I've gained 30 pounds since the wedding!  I have no energy, I'm very down on myself, I get out of breath just by vacuuming! I feel like my life is passing me by. I make excuses every time anyone asks me to do anything.

I really need to lose the weight this time. We want to have a baby but I'm just too heavy. It's not healthy and then the weight will be even harder. I have a hard time doing the simplest of tasks now. I can't imagine what it would be like if I was pregnant on top of it. What sucks is that we are totally really financially and as a couple. We're waiting on me.

  • Yes, WE can do this!  I am also a comfort food eater plus a nightime grazer.  It's not easy going it alone.  Tried that path many a time.  More then I care to remember, truth be told.  I have a wonderful, supportive husband but him being at his correct weight makes it hard for him to relate at times.  That's when I hopp online and chat with my buddies.

I just started 2nd shift so am hoping that will help get things going again.  Recently been ill and have let things slide a bit for the past month.  Being stuck on bedrest was hard.  I did put on about 5 pounds from that, just happy it was not more.  Ready to get back on track and move forward again.

Good for you for joining up.  It is a positive place to be.  Without my buddies I am sure I pry would have given up by now.  Knowing that you are not alone in this battle is a big bonus.

  • I am 55 years old kiddo so don't be so rough on yourself. I've always been heavy except when I diet and finally two years ago I started going to a trainer and following a nutrition class I had taken many years ago after I'd had heart surgery so it's never too late. I'll be glad to be support for you and help you wherever I can and I need some back. I've been struggling the past month getting back to my routines because I've been sick and still have a virus so it's been very hard to commit but I went from l97lbs to l45lbs and I don't want to gain any more I want to continue to lose.

It can be done and it's not easy. I'd love to share what I have learned with you if you want. Looking forward to helping one another. Sandy

  • Hello!

I am a 37 year old stay-at-home Mother.  I have kept on my pregnancy weight and added even more to my short 5-2" frame...I currently weigh 194 pounds and am miserable!  I have fought depression on and off as well, so food has been my comfort.  I am prepared to make this a final fight!  Not just for myself, but for my daughter.  I want to set a great example for her and also be able to teach her good eating habits as she grows.

I am also in need of a buddy, so if anyone is interested, please give me a shout!

Best of luck to EVERYONE!!!!  WE CAN DO THIS!
