  • I just love Jillian! When I am running on the treadmill and I'm about to jump off because my legs hurt so bad, I imagine her yelling at me, and it makes me push harder. I love her 30 day shred! I am now onto her 5 DVD series, which is pretty great, and she has a boost metabolism, that's good as well. I don't think you can go wrong with anything she offers.

Now its getting to the healthier eating that is hard for me. Today was my first day on Slimfast and I am always hungry. And I'll eat and eat until I am stuff, then I regret it, and want to start over but its the same thing every day. And then I wonder why I can't lose weight.

What did you do to help you overcome the urge to soothe yourself with food? I need something to keep me from eating when I am bored, That is my biggest problem...We'll see how day 2 goes with Slim fast tomorrow!

  • Thank you, I will let you know how it goes.  I am used to finishing them in 40 min. but know my pace is nowhere near that fast anymore =(

Day Three:  No 30 day shred today, my quads were burning so bad it hurt to even get up and down from a seated position.  So I rested them and extended my walk today.  Back to the shred tomorrow, the quads are feeling just short of 100%.

The good news is, I didn't over-eat today, stayed within range, even though work was pure hell and I made a huge mistake that is going to be costly.  Def. made me feel like I'm a failure and like I shouldn't be taking over this business in the future.  I'm terrified to pick up any files at work...even though the mistake wasn't 100% on me, just makes me feel inferior and nervous.  But I overcame the urge to soothe myself with food.

  • Good luck with the 5k walk, let us know how it went.  :)

  • KCAS89:  Thanks that was really helpful info.  I was thinking I should incorporate another Ab workout in addition to it, and have the perfect one.

Also, the ankle is fully healed and the blood is clot is gone.  Thank goodness.  The broken ankle was a lot easier to deal with than having a blood clot and freaking out every 3 seconds.

Day Two of "The  Shred" went well, but my goodness the tops of my thighs are killing me.  I did a nice 30 min. walk afterwards to help stay loose.  I'll have my nice 5k walk this Sat. for the annual Turkey Trot .  Looking forward that, at least it's not supposed to be so cold and snow this Saturday.  Last year, it was about 30 degrees for a high that day & we had accumulating snow and it continued throughout the 5k, so it made it rather challenging not to fall :-)

  • I have used the 30 day shred and you are not the only one who got their butt kicked on day one, it gets easier as you continue on.  I have problems with my back, hip, and both knees so I did the alternate work outs that she shows,  I also ran in place or did the punching instead of jumping jacks and got a good workout.  I would then do the absball video workout which is about 12 min., that is also a good workout for your abs.

I have been going to the gym lately so I have not used it the way that I should but it is a really good work out, I just might start again and do it a couple of days during the week.

Hopefully this helps out some, good luck.

  • That was really helpful info. Thanks so much! I hope your ankle heals and feels much better soon!

  • My weightloss was not contributed to Turbo Jam...I lost the 70 lbs. 5 years ago, and in that 5 years, have just put on the 20 lbs.  I used Walk Away the Pounds, hand weights at home, and Cathe Freiderich's CoreMax dvd's, as well as, treadmill walking and walking outdoors when it's not 20 belowzero and snow and ice.  =)

Heck, skip the training part and just start with th 20 min. workout on Turbo Jam.  The training confused me, so I did the 20 min. one and was able to figure it out and get better each time.  It's great when I'm pressed for time.

I'm by far, not coordinated.  Hence the broken ankle...standing at a kitchen sink and passed out.  That takes talent.  =)

WATP dvd's helped me the most and I still love them and do them frequently.

  • Big Props to you for Turbo Jam! I think I have that series buried in a drawer somewhere (another one of my many "attempts" long forgotten). I remember turning on the first DVD and wasn't coordinated enough to make it through the TRAINING part where she just shows you how to do the moves! LMAO! So I definitely take my hat off to your skills! Did TJ contribute to your amazing weight loss very much? I might be brave enought to try it again (if I can find it). LOL.

  • Thank you!  I've heard about the Slim in 6 program.  I have the Turbo Jam series from beach body, and have done that for a few months, but like this 30 day Shred better.

    I will keep you posted.

    Thanks for your encouragement.

  • Hi, I am not doing the Jillian Michaels program but I am very interested in hearing any feedback you get. There are a few of us doing the Slim In 6 program though. Huge Congrats on your previous weight loss! You can do it again and we are all here to help! Good luck!
