  • Hi,

It gets easier after about a week, at least that's what I'm feeling. I still do have cravings to but I've been getting better at controlling them. I've upped my daily intake of fruits and vegetables which seems to be doing wonders. I've considerably cut down on meats, chocolate, white bread and pasta. Instead of water try iced tead. I'm having a hard time drinking the recommended amount of water per day so I'm resorting to honey-sweetened tea. Takes off the sweet cravings and it's easier to drink than water. Do you only get a shake for lunch? From personal experience it didn't work for my either. I have to have something else than "lliquid food" or I raid the fridge a few hours later. I make omelettes with egg whites and vegetables and season it with different spices so it doesn't get boring. I've almost completely replaced chocolate, cookies, etc. with fruit & yogurt and smoothies. YUMMY!

Hang in there, you'll make it through this diet and you'll be proud of yourself!!!!

  • Hi everyone. I am very overweight and am trying the Slim Fast approach. I do like how the site gives us healthy recipes and healthy alternatives to snacking. I do have to say I love the shakes and bars. However, I still feel a little hunger (maybe it is only because my stomach is probably a huge size) but not much. I try not to think about the BAD foods I love, but the cravings are ALWAYS on my mind. It's like Bad food is a drug for me. Seriously. I want to lose some weight and don't want to resort to weight loss surgery (which I already seen a surgeon for for a pre operation consultation). I started exercising on Monday, June 15. I do cardio workouts from DVD's for 30 minutes, take a break for 5, then go at it again for another 30 minutes. I feel exercise pains (and I have to say I LOVE the feel of those pains because I know I'm doing something good for my body). Today is the third day I'm on the exercise and feel great. I do feel very very hungry after every workout and so I down a bottle of water (which fills me up for about 30 minutes), then I get a shake because it is usually around lunch that I exercise. I've been doing this diet for about a week and it's so hard. Does it get any easier? And any advice on how to control the nonstop hunger. Thanks.
