  • My other half thinks this is a good thing for me.  Doesn't mind my chatting.  Keeps me from talking his ear off.  Seriously though...he is very supportive of my efforts and keeps telling me "whatever it takes, do it"  When I said my buddies say I'm full of it,  I'm talking about SF buddies.  People at work have stopped bugging me about my "new" eating habits and now want to start too.  I used to feel I lived to eat, now I eat to live.  This is straight from the 300 lb used to be.  It took a major event to wake me up and see the light.

I know it's Friday but for me it's still Tuesday.  Swing shift and all.  Now they are changeing the hours again.  Back to normal come Monday.  Have a great weekend and keep it touch.  I check the "mailbox" daily.

thanks so much for the encouragement!!!  It helps and you are right, I will go the rest of the way.  Best to you!!

  • yes, it's taken me a while to truly understand the "why" question on losing weight myself.  I"ve discovered over the past year in shedding 50 pounds, and now the journey for the remaining 20-25 pound loss; that I just don't need all that food in my system to live.  It makes me feel fat and sluggish. You are right, it's all about portion control.  On some days, I have to admitt, it's hard to only take a certain amount.  But, I know that's what it takes in order to have the weight fall off.  That's how I did it with the 50 lbs that I"ve already lost.  But, that's why I'm here, to keep me focused, on track, and people like you to help keep me moving forward & stay motivated. I don't mind you assisting me along for the last part of my journey.  I just don't want your other half getting upset because of our correspondance.  However, to answer your question.  I started on SF about  3 weeks ago.  I am really new to all of this, but,. enjoying it and trying hard to follow the guidelines.  It has helped me alot.  I've already lost 3 pounds.  But, I also work out at least 3x a week.  Matter of fact, I just came from the gym a few hours ago, took an intense 1 hour boot-camp type of class.  But, I enjoyed it and I feel good!

Your buddies might say to you that you're full of it...but, when you drop those pounds, wait and see what they say then.  :)

It would be great having the encouragement!  Keep it up yourself in what you're doing!

    The journey does continue..

  • I ask myself the same question.  Why is it harder to lose then gain?  Took me many a year to figure that one out myself.  How long have you been with us now?  I've been around since 3/29.  Been following the meal plan myself.  Execpt for dinner.  The other half doesn't do diet food.  I just eat less of what I make.  Learning to cook things healthy has been a big help there.  I've done good and my doctor says I'm doing great.  He wanted to see 20 lbs gone at 2 month recheck.  Started SF for real on 4/1, thought it was fitting, cause I'm not fooling around no more!!!!  Lost the 20 plus 2 extra.  Still going down.  Little slower then when I first started.  Still......1 to 1-1/2  a week is still that much less of me to deal with.  So, cudos to you for the first 50 and If you want to talk  during the last 20-25 I'll be here for you.  We all need encouragement at times.  And as my buddies kept telling me....I'm full of it!!!  LOL  And the Journey continues...........

  • Wow 50lb lose is great!!!!! I am sure if you've lost that much you can get all the way to your goal weight. I wish you luck!!!

  • I've lost 50 pounds already, however, that was done before I joined slim fast.  I want to loose 20-25 more pounds and I've come to a stand still.  I've trailed away from all my good habits and have started to benge on all the wrong things.  I'm trying hard to get back on track with my eating and controling my portion size.  I feel like I'm at the beginning and learning all over again.  It's terribly hard, but, I'm determined to get back on track. I really like slim fast, it's given me the motivation and tools to get back on track.  I work out 3x a week, if it wasn't for that, I"d probably pick all the weight back up again. I'm fotunate because that hasn't happend. I'm trying to stay the course to eat right.  Today, I followed the meal plan and have done excellent.  I just hope to keep it up!  Any encouragement would be great!!  Hope everyone is hanging in there.  That's the only way we'll get through all of this.  Wow!!  Why is loosing weight so hard? :)
