    As of today I have now dropped 22.5 lbs since 4/1/09.  Not starving myself, just watching myself and working in the guidelines

  • Hey Jean,  Mary here.  Thanks for the words.  Allot of people don't agree with me and my "ideas"  It's good to know others do feel as I do.  Don't deny or you'll pry binge.  THAT'S what hurts.  That slice of pizza(or 2) the mini burrito, or whatever floats your boat, is good.   Eating the whole pizza, getting the chips and cheese that went before the mini and the turtle sundae that went after, that's bad.  I work things in just like you.  It must be working.  As of today I have now dropped 22.5 lbs since 4/1/09.  Not starving myself, just watching myself and working in the guidelines.  And my buddies are A HUGE help too.      Mary

    First of all you are beautiful. Next, in my personnal opinion, ignore the signals your body is sending, you are only making it harder on yourself. It all goes back to "why do we want what we know we can't have). Of course we cannot give in to every desire and craving that crosses our minds. On the other hand by giving in to certain desires we can relieve ourselves of the constant desire. I am a suger junkie. Cake, ice cream, chewy candy, cookies.... you name it I love it.

    I have begun learning how to make recipes using new ingredients that do not take away from the flavor, but do take away a lot of the fat. I also give in every now and then to my cravings. It is not all about what you eat, its about how you eat it. If I feel that I REALLY REALLY need something, I allow myself a small amount. If its cake, I cut a small slice, scrape off the frosting, and enjoy. Another thing we tend to do is take taste for granted. Our lives are so hurried, that we forget to stop and taste the food. When you are eating, take your time and really savor each and every bite. Not only will you enjoy it that much more, but you are more likely to have less cravings. Good luck and remember you are really truly beautiful.

  • Yes you can add me as your buddy we all need help and its a lot easier when you have someone to talk to. Thats why I joined the community because I really dont have anyone to talk to about my weight. If you need to Im here to always talk.

    Cravings.  Worlds worst problem.  I deal with mine by sticking to the Plan.  Love food period.  I let myself have one treat a week and I plan it very carefully.  Are you on vitiamins of any kind?  Sometimes a craving is actually your body looking for something it's missing.  Since I've started the shakes and meal bars my cravings have not been rearing their ugly little heads.  There are times.....then I get smart and go online and chat with my buddies.  They are a huge help.  We are all in this together.  I'm starting to like my body and myself again.  Wanna talk?  I'm here.  names Mary.

     

    Great post Mem! I agree with everything you wrote and feel just like you. I stick to the plan and fit the food I'm craving in to it. It works wonderfully:) As a matter of fact, I'm having pizza for dinner tonight.

  • You could try giving yourself a free day once a week or once every two weeks. I know some days I just cant handle it anymore and I just give myself a free day. The other thing is you cant over do it though and the nest day get back on your diet. No one is perfect and we are all humans. I dont care what kinda of diet your on. Your going to miss your chocolate and gressy pizza because your body is use to having it. Some things just cant be replaced and the diet is about having a healthy lifestyle and there are going to be time in your life when your going to want your old foods. Everyone falls off the wagon that doesnt mean you have failed. Just be sure to hop back on it and dont give up.

  • I am trying to lose weight, but its hard for me because even though i eat three meals a day, my cravings keep calling me and i keep overeating..i am 4'11 and i weight almost 170lbs. i hate my body, i need help badly...please someone tell me how to maintain myslef from overeating..:(
