  • Sparkle  is so right try filling up on water sometimes you think your hungry but your really just thirsty and don't realize it if after you drink water and your still hungry try foods high in protien like Sparkle suggested almonds really cut the hunger feeling for me.

    That is great advise. I am going to stock up on sf jello and some instant decaf sf coffee. That way my faithful days will continue into the nights.

  • Hi I am new here but I also have problems with the evening times after dinner.  I can do fine during the day, and when I binge at night I feel disappointed in myself and feel that I have no self control.  I am very fustrated that I can not control my cravings.  Help, I'm open to anything!

  • Hi - I have that same problem too.  I sometimes drink hot decaf coffee at night with Splenda and mix some of the chocolate SF shake in there for the "creamer" part.  You could also warm up some fat-free milk if you'd like to try and drink that also-I've noticed that drinking milk curves my craving for sweets.  Whenever I get "hungry" I usually reach for some sugar-free jello.  I keep some made in the fridge and also buy the ready made kind (they are only 10 calories each) will eat 2-3 of those in one sitting so I could feel full and that helps greatly.  Just thought I'd share my 2 cents worth.  Thanks.

  • Great idea! I'll have to try the hot tea before bed sometime. And yes, you are very lucky to enjoy water. Water is my best enemy for weight loss. lol

    Keep it up and great discipline on reducing the alcohol!

    Water is definitely the key.  I have always loved just plain water, even from the tap, and never was a soda or juice drinker.  I guess I'm lucky in that, unlike most folks, I don't have to force it down.  But I used to also drink a lot of alcohol, which I've almost completely cut out, except on special occassions (which I happened to find on Saturday night, lol) but try not to overdo it.  I like your idea of the cheese & nuts--yummy!  Also, having a cup of hot decaf tea before bed seems to curb cravings & the warmth helps me sleep.

  • Yes! I found out last night when I was starving that a cheese stick and some almonds helped. It was the heaviness of it and the protein that helped. I felt great afterwards. From now on when I get hungry like that I'll remember I need some protein. Also, at night when I'm hungry and I've reached my calorie limit, I'll take a few big gulps of diet soda and the fizz helps fill my stomach. I have to do that right before bed sometimes and chug some water and go to sleep asap so I don't eat anything else. Drinking plenty of water really helps you stay full so be sure and have water before and after any food you put in your mouth, including the shakes. I've also heard that if you're hungry, drink a tall glass of water first and then if you're still hungry, you'll know your body really is asking for something.

  • I have a problem with eating more than one snack after dinner (more like a craving /binge problem), it doesn't matter if I eat properly all day or don't start till noon, I still get so hungry.  I'm generally not hungry in the morning at all and have to force myself to eat, but it seems once I start my stomach doesn't want to stop.  I don't feel like it's emotional eating...I'm just plain hungry then.  Anyone else with this problem and perhaps some suggestions?
