  • Hi Tigerlily34, I am starting on my 10th week, this week.  I guess I'm taking it really slow, and figure that 1 pound per week is 52 pounds per year.  It's ok to fall off the wagon as long as you get back on the next day.  The problem is trying to put the bad days behind you.   Like this weekend, I totally messed up because I went to a Tastefully Simple Party, I ate until I thought I was going to throw up.  I figured that might throw me off this week, so hopefully 1 day doesn't mess up my 10 pound success.  I just need to put that bad day behind me.  I have fallen off the wagon before, and there were a couple weeks where I stayed the same weight or gained 2 pounds, but the next week I lost what I gained the previous week, then just started over.  Averaged losing 1 pound per week.  Stick with it! It's hard, and it always will be, but we're all in this together.

  • How long did it take you to lose 10 pounds?  I have to lose 30 and i am constantly falling off of the wagon.

  • Thx for the reminder, Star, about hot liquids.  They are very comforting, especially in cold weather. I live in Upstate New York and we're still having snow and cold! In addition to being soothing, drinking/eating a hot liquid takes longer than room temp foods, and that's a good thing when we are in need of having our mouths occupied. 

    I often have a cup of soup for lunch with 5 Ritz crackers. Many if not most soups have about a hundred calories a cup and the crackers have 80 calories. Together they equal a Slim-Fast drink. Most days I do drink a Slim-Fast for lunch, but a couple of days a week I have the time and desire for something different.

     

  • Oh yes!  I LOVE sugar free hot cocoa! 

  • I agree - - I also use sugar free hot cocoa - - gives a little bit of chocolate flavor without blowing the day!  Also, I've been using various brothy soups -- that just seems to fill the void! 

  • Hi everyone!  I lost my 10th pound this morning. I have a long way to go to hit my goal, so I thought I would join this forum as cravings are just the toughest battle during the week for me, especially late at night.  One thing I have been doing is drinking broths and drinking decaffinated English Teas late at night when I have cravings.  The liquid makes me full and the warmth makes me feel comforted which I think is a lot of why I eat, is to feel emotional comfort.  So, the next time you are getting cravings and it's 8 or 9 at night, make some Earl Grey Tea and enjoy a crossword puzzle or listen to music.  It's soothing and relaxing.
