  • I'm a newby only three days old!  Don't be nervous.  This is the only place I've found where I can pour my heart out and not be judged by anybody.  We're all struggling, myself included.

    You sound tired, like you're busy constantly.  Are you eating on the go a lot?  Even though I'm home with my kids, my life still is extremely hectic.  I've committed myself to preparing healthy, home-cooked meals nightly (from scratch!) because I'd be in a worse mess if I did carry out all the time.  I'm able to limit my sodium that way - although I have it every now and then in my meals.  And I cut the fat down to about an eighth of what it could be.

    If I'm making meatloaf, most of it is pretty healthy:  lean meat, fresh, chopped onions and spices, etc., but every now and then I'll mix some ground turkey in with the beef.  Cuts the calories even more and my husband is none the wiser!  Can't have more feathers sprouting on him!

    i'm just really busy with school and work and all of that..

     

    school lunches is just one choice, with an honestly gross salad bar...

    it's really sad. the salad is just --- too unappealing to eat for me.

  • Hi HannahVictoria, Congratulations on joining us here. Lasting weight loss is   easier when you  don't go it alone. It sounds like you snack pretty healthily, though I don't know what is available or whatyou get  in the vending machine,  there are probably  SOME options that are healthier than others.What do you get when you buy school lunches? I know that   the choices aren't  always the best. Is there a  soup or salad bar  available?I want you to know that you made those grapes sound so darn good that I'm eating a bowl right now! Do you drink soda at work? That's one easy way to cut down on  calories.Perkins probably has a lot of delicious,  but no so nutritious choices, huh? I wish you  the best,  keep making healthy changes, and find  different ways to exercise.You'll get there.

  • this is my average day:

    6:30a --- wake up and get ready.

    7:30 --- leave for school.

    10:00 --- get a snack from the vending machine.

    11:30 --- school lunch.

    3:00p --- head home, change for work, grab a fruit snack pack or granola bar.

    5:00 --- leave work, either to go home for supper or go to perkins.

    somewhere between 7:30 and 9:00 --- evening snack of fruit!

     

     

    my exercise is really just work and school.. i'm always walking around on my feet!! in the summer time, my friend marshall and i would either go running all the time, wake up in the morning and play sand volleyball for a few hours, or just go walking or biking. sometimes the good game of 2-way tag or tackle football was played. oh; i miss summer now!!! i work at perkins, and we get a bunch of employees together to play volleyball once to four nights a week in the summer, also. SO MUCH FUN!!!

    my diet is basically as listed above..

    i'm a fruit person, though. right now i'm addicted to GRAPES. they're SOOO good!!! cold, crispy, flavorful, and healthy. Grapes Rock!! i usually eat apples, oranges, grapes, and bananas for snacks. oh, and fruit snack packs!! haha --- i'm like a child, but it's hard to resist them! i also like granola bars and special k cereal - it's so good!!

    i'd like to get to 125-135lbs. that was my past weight, and i loved it! i felt comfortable and looked great, you know.

    so i guess that's about 20-25 lbs.

    I'm probably not old enough to be your mom (I'm 25), but I'll do my level best to keep you motivated and on track.  But first, what's your diet and exercise routine?  Don't leave out details either.  You never know, something that you do regularly that is different from me could help me lose more weight too.  So don't leave out the details!  How much are you trying to lose?  We'll keep each other straight!
