My body had been acting weird... He said it was because when I was on birth control, it was regulating my hormones, but since I was off for a little while and because I was overweight, I had more Estrogen so my body was out of control...

Re: Question about birth control and Slim-Fast.

missakerissa,

Generally, introducing drugs into the body can alter hormones, or other biochemicals that can influence the metabolic rate, stimulate the appetite, promote fat storage, etc. Certain types of drugs in the classes of drugs such as hormones (i.e. birth control), for example, may cause weight gain. But, every drug is different and this depends on the type of drug, its mechanism in the body, side effects, drug interaction, a person's complete medical history, etc. It sounds like you have spoken to your physician, and Ortho-tri-cyclen may have a lesser side effect with regards to weight gain. If this is the case, you should be able to lose weight with Slim-Fast and exercise.

Slim-Fast products do not contain any drugs, stimulants, or appetite suppressants. Therefore, they should be compatible with taking birth control pills.

If you or your physician have additional questions for me, please feel free to call me at 1-800-SLIMFAST (754-6327).

Sincerely,

Ortho has a better history of not making you gain weight, so on Slim-Fast with exercise is it possible to still lose weight? Is Slim-Fast compatible with birth control or is it that much harder to lose weight?
