    What a busy schedule! You do need to eat more than just two shakes a day and two pieces of bread with butter though.  First, it is not enough calories for your body - this means your metabolism will be really slow.  Second, those few items definitely do not provide you with all the other nutrients that you need for the day. 

    The Slim-Fast Plan helps you control your calorie intake while keeping you satisfied and nourished.  The Plan starts when you normally begin your day.  Replace one meal with a Slim-Fast Meal On-The-Go, combine a second Slim-Fast Meal On-The-Go with 200 calories of your favorite food, and dine on a Sensible Meal that is approximately 500 calories.  Enjoy at least 3 servings of fruit or vegetables each day between meals and additional snacks (about 120 calories each) as indicated by your personalized meal plan.  Also, make sure to include eight-8 oz. glasses of water or calorie-free beverages and 30 minutes or more of moderate physical activity each day.  Following the Slim-Fast plan is designed to promote a healthy weight loss of approximately 1-2 pounds per week.
     
    Take a few minutes to think about and jot down when you normally eat your meals and snacks. Pick the time of day that you will be able to eat or prepare a larger sensible meal in accordance with The Plan. Your other 2 meals will then be your Slim-Fast Meal On-The-Go and your Meal Combination.  Incorporate a snack 2-3 hours after each meal to make sure you are getting enough calories, to help prevent hunger, and to avoid overeating later in the day.  With a little planning you can make The Slim-Fast Plan fit into your day for successful weight loss.

  • My hours are awful..7 Am to 7 PM, and I have to travel 40 minutes both ways to and from work.  I have been drinking a can of slim fast, my mug of coffee and eating some bread and the spreadable "butter" from land o lakes on my way to work. The bread and butter is something that I can hold onto while I am driving to work.  I eat that because of some strong arthritis medication I have to take to avoid any ulceration in my stomach.

    I very seldom have time for a break at work. I am a geriatric nurse and there is always something for me to focus my attention on with a patient range of 22 to 31 residents on my floor alone, along with all the meetings, and quieting staff squabbles through out the day, on top of the ever demanding heap of paperwork required by the government to be completed each and every day.  There are days when I take some diet coke and another slim fast shake to work for dinner, but I never get the time to sit down to enjoy it.  Many many days I work straight through.  I don't like it, but I don't like leaving late either. I don't get home usually until 815 or 830PM.  My husband and I eat something because we have too.  He doesn't get dinner either.  We eat in front of the tv and fight our fatigue, perhaps dozing off a bit, before we go to bed at 9 or 10 PM, only to get up again the next morning at 5 AM to start this crazy routine all over again.

    I have to do this 3 days a week on a set 3-week schedule, working every 3rd weekend.  My husband works every weekend, having only Tuesday and Wednesday's off.  I don't always have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.  We might actually have one or two days in any given month where we are actually together all day, unless someone else "plans" some extra duties for us.

    As you can see, both of our schedules are just plain nuts and there isn't anything we can do about them, especially in this economy.  So, we just muddle through the best we can.

    On my days off, when I am home alone, is it ok to take a shake for breakfast like I stated above, and then another at dinner with maybe another piece of bread and butter.  The slim fast really does control my hunger for 4 hours, so I am not hungry.

    At 349# and 6 feet tall, I do believe the weight wrecks havoc with my joints, and being on my feet all day doesn't help.  I truly think I gained this weight because of laziness and boredom when I am home alone, so I'd like to get it off as fast as I can.
