Slim-Fast Meals and Snacks are nutritional foods that can be readily incorporated into a diabetic meal plan.  The American Diabetes Association recognizes that the use of meal replacements such as Slim-Fast is an effective way to lose weight.  In fact, studies show that people with type 2 diabetes who follow the Slim-Fast plan not only lose weight but also improve their diabetes control along with improving risk factors associated with heart disease such as reduced cholesterol levels and lower blood pressure. 

You should consult your physician or diabetes educator before following the Slim-Fast Plan or any other diet plan to address your individual nutritional needs. It is important to closely monitor blood glucose levels while following any weight loss program, as medication may need to be adjusted.

I am type 2...is it safe to drink these shake and eat the bars with so much sugar in them? My shake powder has 22 grams of sugar for 1 shake.....My sugar has been higher....Is this safe. I have lost 20 lbs...so I am happy with the diet....Thanks, Emily
