  • It sounds like you are doing quite a bit of exercise.  Doing 2.5 hours of exercise in a day will require a higher calorie intake than just 1200 or probably even 1500 calories.  By burning so many calories and eating so few, your body may be going into starvation mode.  Also, keep in mind that if you are doing the same type of exercise each day, your body will adjust to the routine. 

    Based on your current weight, I would normally say that 1500 calories would be appropriate, allowing for 30-60 minutes of moderate activity (i.e. brisk walking) on most days of the week.  On days when you are exercising double that amount, you will likely need at least 1700 calories.  I would also recommend trying different activities for your exercise.  For instance, if you currently use the bike, try using the elliptical instead.  Or, try doing some light strength training a couple of days a week.  Please consult your physician before starting any new exercise.

    Finally, you may want to check with your doctor to ensure you don't have any underlying medical reason for your weight loss slowing down.

  • Hi, I just had a quick question about exercise during the program. When I first started, I lost about 8-9 pounds the first month, which is great because my b-day was right around the corner. Well, after that, I hit a wall, and I couldn't lose anymore weight. i tried everything, changed my calorie intake, increase exercise, nothing helped, so I went off of it for a week or two, and now I'm back on this week to try again. I'm a decently active person, and daily i usually workout anywhere from 1 hour to 2 1/2 hours a day, and I've tried consuming 1200 calories to 1500 calories, what should I do? I'm about 5'1'' and 151lbs...

    please help! =(
