  • I found some recipes now. I didn't page down far enough. No new ones, yet, tho.

  • I'll be watching for the new plan in December. I hope the daily meal plan and substitution list formats are similar to what we use now. Will we be able to pull up and use the existing program? I looked at the new site, but didn't see anyplace to go for recipes. I imagine it'll be like the current program, where you can't go tto the recipes except when changing your menu. It'd be so nice to be able to have a recipe tab and recipe box also...Thanks again...PAnn

  • Ultimately, the new plan should put people at about the same calorie level.  The goal is for people to start the plan and then if they are losing more than 1-2 pounds per week, then they are suppose to add more calories, in the form of snacks, to bring up their calorie level and control their rate of weight loss.  If you want to check out the new plan, visit the 3-2-1 website at www.slimfast321.com.  There are some new recipes and ideas that you might find interesting.  The new flavors for the meal and snack bars are as follows:

    3-2-1 Meal Bars
    -Chewy Chocolate Crisp
    - Chocolate Peanut Caramel
    - Fruit & Yogurt Trail Mix
    - Oatmeal Cinnamon Raisin
    - Sweet & Salty Chocolate Almond

    3-2-1 Snack Bars
    -Chocolate Nougat Gone Nuts
    -Chocolatey Vanilla Blitz
    - Double-Dutch Chocolate
    - Nutty Chocolate Chew
    - Peanut Butter Crunch Time

Hopefully you will be able to find a replacement for the chocolate chip and peanut butter granola bars!!

Let us know if you need additional information regarding the new program!  We will always help you out!
    Sincerely,

  • Thanks Amy and as always, thanks for your continued support! It's been a great road we've traveled here.....Thanks for the update on the new plan... Won't this new plan lower daily caloric intake or do you have more calories in your "sensible meal"? Will menus change, then? Hopefully we'll see more recipes added also. Will we still be able to find the great tasting Optima meal and snack bars?? If not, I'll sure miss them. My favorites are the Choc. Chip and Peanut Butter Granola Bars. I'm sure they will be phased out. I'm glad I have extra boxes to last me awhile :-) I'm sorry for all the questions. I'm the type that has a hard time with change, especially when what I'm doing works for me. I'm sure I'll stick with the Optima plan. I hope other members have great success with the new plan. Being on maintenance, I've learned the skills I need to keep the weight off, but I still follow the plan every day, just at the higher daily calories...Soon will be the big Holiday Challenge again!!!  Thanks again Amy......Pat (aka  PAnn)

  • Hi Pat, it is great to hear from you!  I am glad to hear that you are continuing to maintain, as always, GREAT JOB!!

The new 3-2-1 plan is replacing the Optima plan.  The new snack bars are lower in calories, only 100 calories per bar as compared to 120 calories in the Optima snack bars.  The new 3-2-1 plan is designed to simplify the program and make it easier to follow.  We still only want you to lose no more than 2 pounds per week, so there will still be people who are eating more for snacks than others to keep the weight loss on target, but you do have the option of only having the shake or meal bar for lunch without the additional food.  However, since the calories in the shakes and meal bars haven't changed, you can still have the additional 200 calories of food with your lunch if you prefer to stick with that plan.  The new 3-2-1 products can be used with the online Optima Meal Planner.

Pat, I hope this information is helpful and certainly let me know if you need anything else!

    Sincerely,

    Amy Hehn, RD, LDN

  • I was wondering if the Optima plan is being eliminated? It seems everything in the store is the new 3.2.1 plan. I tried a snack bar today and can't say I cared for it. I did look at the differences in calories and nutrients and compared it to the Optima. There are differences, but also looking at the plan on the box it looks like it eliminates foods now. For instance, on the Optima plan for lunch  you would have a shake or meal bar, plus 200 calories of other healthy food. On the new plan all you get for lunch is a meal bar or shake  with no added food. Am I reading the box wrong?? I did wonderfully on the Optima plan and think that the way I'm understanding the new plan, a person could get awfully hungry. On the Optima plan I can honestly say that I was rarely hungry. The new plan is like the original plan from way back when....PAnn the Optima Die Hard  (Continuing to maintain!  3 more months to my 2nd year anniversary with Slim Fast!!)
