There are some tips that can be helpful when trying to lose weight with hypothyroidism.  The first is to make sure that your medication dosage is appropriate for you.  It can take some time until you and your physician are comfortable with your dosage, so try and be patient as you go through some trial and error.  Secondly, eating to support a healthy metabolism is important.  Try and eat on a regular schedule, every 2-3 hours, with 3 meals per day and 3 between meal snacks.  I would also suggest that you register online for our free meal planner.  The meal planner will determine the best calorie level for you.  It is the best way to get started toward your weight loss goal.  When you are registering, you might consider the low carb meal plan, which includes the Slim-Fast Low Carb shakes.  Some people with hypothyroidism have better results following a lower carb meal plan.  This is quite personal, so you can certainly try the Optima meal plan and see how you respond to it and then if you aren't experiencing results in a few weeks, then try the lower carb meal plan.  Finally, be sure that you are including strength training into your workout routine.  Strength training is the most important thing to encourage a healthy metabolism, so be sure to alternate days between a cardio routine and strength training.
